Playground Suppliers

Suppliers of playground equipment often sell more than one manufacturer's equipment. Suppliers will be able to advise on safe layouts, design, suitability for age groups and may provide initial maintenance. Most suppliers will also provide safety surfacing. Equipment may be viewed at the supplier’s websites.
Both RoI and Northern Ireland suppliers cover the whole island of Ireland.
All equipment sold in Ireland must now conform to the European Standards on Playground Equipment (ISEN 1176) and Surfacing (ISEN 1177). You should ask for proof of compliance or certification for each item of equipment and for the surfacing.
Under the Standards, suppliers should also provide maintenance instructions and a spare parts list. Suppliers can also arrange for an independent post-installation inspection and risk assessment through RoSPA. These inspections are required for a local authority to take over the playground and can help to reduce insurance related costs. The RoSPA inspector for Ireland can be contacted at rwebb@indigo.ie.
